Projects
Currently, VERBUND Green Power Romania operates in the country a 226 MW wind farm in Tulcea, which has been operational since 2012.
Recently, the company has announced the construction of a 60 MW solar photovoltaic plant on the Casimcea site, thus creating the first ever hybrid renewable energy complex in Romania.
The company is seeking to increase its presence and renewable energy generation portfolio in Romania in the coming years. The development, construction and long-term operation of large-scale wind and solar projects is the main business focus of VERBUND Green Power Romania. In parallel, as a company we are continuously analyzing market trends and technological innovations, seeking for ways to complement our renewable generation portfolio and provide more stability to the energy grid.
"VERBUND has been a relevant player in Romania's renewable energy sector for over a decade. Our 226 MW Casimcea wind farm, with 88 turbines operational since 2012, is proof of our commitment to sustainable energy in the country and demonstrates our deep understanding of the local business landscape. We are currently looking to expand our renewable energy production portfolio in Romania to contribute to the Verbund Group's goal of covering 25% of its total production with wind and solar energy by 2030. In addition to these two main energy sources, we are also interested in developing battery storage projects in Romania.”
